Interesting piece Chris. I came over to this site from your 'tidbits' about Standard Chartered.

I suppose in today's world of crisis, banks seem to be bearing the brunt of it all. I don't know but maybe sometime in the near future those who want to start a bank might think twice.

P.S: Didn't see you cover the article about the Greek banker who moved his funds over to London?

Chris Skinner

Hello John

You mean this Greek banker?

The former boss of a Greek bank has admitted transferring €8m of personal funds to buy London property months before his stricken bank was broken up by the government.

Yep, same one. Maybe you could do a feature, on similar kind of individuals. Barclay's Del Missier and the sorts.

Its painful enough that the global crunch is hitting the average Joe, except the 'select' bankers who seem to be untouched. I don't mean to turn this into a bank bashing thread, but it would be good to see some insights into such individuals.

Call it, Banking sector 'General Knowledge' ;)
