Hans Adam II may well be the wealthiest monarch in Europe but there are several wealthier elsewhere.
The Sultan of Brunei is "worth" over $20bn - you might argue he's a sultan not a king but in that case how about the King of Saudi Arabia, again over $20bn.
Personally I'm glad we have The Queen as a figure head rather than more sleazy politicians who are more concerned about being elected than the long term interests.

I was firstly amused, then upset that someone would look at the Queen of England, or anyone else for that matter, as a cost-benefit calculation, or ROI. The fact that we even consider doing this says a lot about our civilization (or lack thereof). If something is positive from a ROI or cost-benefit let's do it? otherwise not? is that all that matters? Have we abandoned any moral consideration? Have you had children based on cost-benefit or ROI? Let's have a queen or a king in countries that don't have one for lucrative reasons! Drug business and arms is lucrative, let's go for it!
