When are banks going to start to engage some proper advisers who know what is happening in the digital space, instead of thinking they can just plod along?

First two of the three things mentioned by you appear to be complimentary. To achieve the two, I agree that there has to be a collaborative effort. The concern that arises in my mind is whether such collaboration may lead to 'mega-monopolies', and if that happens, will that lead to drastic reduction in beneficial options available to the consumers presently.
