    Funny that such a question can be asked. Without financing investments would be seriously slowed down and also other risk taking capacity much less efficient.

    Question should be how bankers could be EVEN more good for society - by being innovative and stop taking excessive risks..

    I agree with you ... but with so many discussions of bankers being 'socially useless', it is a timely debate.

    Be interested to see what conclusions (if any) we come to.

    I've enjoyed reading your articles, and this seems to take the lead , so far. I look forward to continue reading the rest of your speech. About the part one, I agree that the fear of regulations is good; the problem is its imposition. What happened recently in the banks like Bank of America, Citi Bank, Goldman, etc., is a clear proof that the fear is absent due to several reasons. Best regards
