Excellent article of corporate payments innovation. Thanks.

I certainly agree with the importance of real time information delivered over a multi-bank channel like SWIFT using non-proprietary standards.

Forward looking corporates have been investing in standardised payment and cash management processes, centralised these in shared service centres and implemented ERP and Payment Factories to underpin these processes system-wise. As investments in this infrastructure to make it real time happen, banks not able to meet the requirements will be dropped and replaced by banks that can offer these. The fact that the 'onboarding' of a new bank is no longer require investments in bank proprietary channels will accelerate this.
